Hi Ho a Miners Life for me

I would hazzard a guess that when everyone first logs into Eve Online they start their life as a miner, maybe only for a couple of days but its a way as seen as getting off the first rung of the ladder and on your way to buying a better ship and more skills.

Being a miner is a relatively sedate and safe way to make your money in eve, training the skills needed for a top of range mining monster can take a few months but good Isk can be made using the other mining vessels on offer, once fully trained a miner can make 5 - 10 million Isk an hour.

Veldspar everywhere

The most common asteroids you will find are Veldspar, simply point your mining lasers at the asteroids and fire away till your hold is full, ship it back to station and sell it, repeat and rinse untill you can afford a better ship and more skills. once youve got youself a few million isk together you can buy a dedicated mining cruiser and you should be able to quite easily make half a million isk per hour after a couple of weeks of playing. I gave up being a miner after a few days into the game but i bought myself a Osprey mining cruiser the other day just to have a break from the constant pvp i have been doing for months and was able to make 2 million isk in an hour of mining, that was with very little in the way of mining skills trained.

There are players who make mining their career in eve and make far more than most players, mining lucrative gas clouds and Ice belts as well as other high paying minerals but these can come with their own risks as a lot of these will be found in lower security systems. Another point to consider is PVP,ers generally make their Isk in other ways but they tend to get killed a lot and need to replace expensive ships, a miner will generally just be saving isk rather than killing isk which opens up quite a few more opurtunitys for a miner to get into such as trading or manufacturing.
