Making a safe spot

Every pilot should know how to make a safe spot, I have become used to making safe spots in nearly every system I travel through and in low sec and null sec i never miss making one.

So what is a safe spot? Its a place in a solar system in the middle of nowhere where you can warp to when you need to get out of trouble fast and its a place that has saved me many times and also killed me a couple of times.

Its very simple, all you do is open up "people and places" tab on the left hand side of your screen, now click on the places tab in the window you have opened, when you enter a system and warp to the exit gate or station you will click the "Make Bookmark" tab at the bottom of the window you have open while you are mid warp and click "ok", this will drop a bookmark in mid space that you can warp to at any time. This is a very quick bookmark, you can now make a deeper and therefore safer bookmark.

Just go to your first safe spot you just made and then warp to a celestial object that is as far away as possible and warp to it, dropping a safe spot mid warp. Its a good idea to have a few safe spots in systems you know you will be in a while.

So why have I been killed in safe spots? Because I stayed in them too long allowing pirates to scan me down and warp in on top of me, its always a good idea to keep moving around from one safe spot to another when hostiles are around. It takes a lot less time than you think for a good pilot to scan you down.
