Quick Tips
Ive put together some common questions New players might commonly ask when they start the game.
Q. What is the best cruiser for mining for my chosen race ?
A. Open up the information for all the cruisers and read what bonuses each ship recieves, the bonuses will tell you what a ships strong points are and so how you should be fitting the ship, this goes for any ship you fly.
Q. Can I fly a Minmatar Frigate when I am a Amarr pilot ?
A. Yes you can although you will need to buy the Amarr frigate skill book and train it before you can fly one.
Q. Should I be armour tanking or shield tanking my ship ?
A. A good rule of thumb to follow is to look how many low slots and how many mid slots your ship has, if you have more mids then sheild tanking is usually the way to go and if you have more lows then armour tanking is usually right for you. Also check attributes for your ship and bonuses, these can tell you which you should favour tanking.
Q. Can I be killed in High sec space ?
A. Yes, you can be killed anywhere in Eve although to be killed in high sec usually means you have consented to fight, sometimes unknowingly.

A. Check all your skills, some will give more powergrid, some will give bonuses to certain modules powergrid usage when trained and there are Low slot modules you can fit for extra powergid - Reactor control relays, Power diagnostic systems and there are Ship rigs which will give you more powergrid too.
Q. What are rig slots used for ?
A. They are used to fit rigs which are permanent fittings and cannot be removed unless you destroy them. Rigs are expensive and run into millions of Isk, even for a cheap one. Rigs will give extra bonuses to certain aspects of your ship depending on the rigs you choose to fit.
